Remember the following three
truth’s from our beloved Scriptures!
“Ye shall NOT ADD TO THE WORD which I command you, neither shall ye diminish from it, that ye may keep the commandments of יְהוָה
אֱלֹהֵיכֶם (the LORD your Eloleichem)
which I command you”. Davarim - Deuteronomy 4:2.
“This is My Name FOREVER, and this is My Memorial to ALL Generations”. Shemot - Exodus 3:15. (JPS).

“Be strong and courageous. Be careful to obey the entire Torah My servant Moshe has given you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. Do not let this Book of the Torah depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.”

This study looks at the verse
mentioned, and how it is correct in our Tanakh, yet later the Church of Rome
made, to say the least, made a great big mess of it, I am sad to say!
Yeshayahu - Isaiah Chap. 14:12. (JPS-1917 version) - reads as
follows ...
“How art thou fallen from heaven, O day-star, son of the morning? How art thou cut down to the ground, that didst cast lots over the nations!”
In Hebrew it is as follows ...
אֵיךְ
נָפַלְתָּ
מִשָּׁמַיִם,
הֵילֵל בֶּן-שָׁחַר;
נִגְדַּעְתָּ
לָאָרֶץ,
חוֹלֵשׁ עַל-גּוֹיִם
Facts regarding this verse:
The fact of the matter is that Yeshayahu - Isaiah 14:12 in its accurate context is a taunt against
‘the king of Babylon’, using the image הֵילֵל
בֶּן-שָׁחַר - “helel
ben-shachar” (day-star, son of the morning),
However, at a much the later date, the identification of this figure suddenly
became ‘Satan - ‘Lucifer’. Of course this was entirely changed by the Roman
Church’s theological development, based on the ‘Latin Vulgate’ and
their revised interpretations. They simply could not understand the very plain
historical details, which were clearly stated. The factual ‘literary’ sense of
the Hebrew oracle of this chapter was simply rejected!
Let us look at the
Roman Church version of this very same verse, and you will be surprised how ridiculous
it is?
“How art
thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art
thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!” (KJV = King James Version).
The truth is that
they were simply not mindful enough, as they obviously did not read the whole
chapter, for they completly missed verses 3 to 5,
which would have cleared their rather ridiculous translations, instead they
simply made a mess of it!
Quick
reading of the verse and immediate context:
The Hebrew phrase הֵילֵל
בֶּן‑שָׁחַר
(hêylêl ben-shacḥar)
literally pictures a shining one or morning star, and appears in a taunt poem
directed at a ‘proud ruler who has fallen from power’; the chapter as a whole
addresses to the downfall of the ‘king of Babylon’ and the nations’
rejoicing over his humiliation.
However, the
Christian tradition rendered the original Hebrew into a Latin and suddenly they
turned up with their
‘lucifer’, which much later, Christian theologians
used as a name for their devil, and that history of translation is why many
readers associate Isaiah 14:12 with ‘Satan’. How wrong can they be? Actually,
proving to be far of track, it makes the church look like a complete pagan
based joke, and to be honest Christianity is basically a pagan religion!
Thus, why is there
even a “Satan” and “Lucifer: in their version of Isaiah 14:12, for it changes
the Word of אֱלֹהִים - Elohim, from
the original plain sense it was written in! This makes me ask, did they not
read verses 3-5 of this very same chapter? It should have made them understand
this verse so much better, but the truth is they needed a Satan come Lucifer to
be part of their faith!
To prove a
fact, here is Yeshayahu - Isaiah Chaper
14:3-5. (JPS-1917 version) below:
“And it shall
come to pass in the day that יְהוָה
- the LORD shall give thee rest from thy travail, and
from thy trouble, and from the hard service wherein thou wast
made to serve, that thou shalt take up this parable against the king of Babylon,
and say: How hath the oppressor ceased! The exactress of gold ceased! יְהוָה hath broken the staff of
the wicked, the sceptre of the rulers”.
Thus, the simple truth is that
entire chapter is against the ‘king of Babylon’, and it has nothing to do with anything else. But, the Roman
church invented is what turned out to be their great error. But it was “יְהוָה who hath broken the staff of the wicked, the sceptre of the
rulers”.
Ancient imagery:
Each of these above points, is supported by
both ancient and modern scholarship that reads the verse as being completly
‘Isaiah’s oracle against Babylon’, rather than having anything to do as a
direct portrait of a of some so-called demon angel.
