Guidelines for our Hebraic community!
With Rabbi, Dr. Reuven Ben Avraham-Goossens,
PhD.
“Be strong and courageous.
Be careful to obey the entire Torah My servant Moshe has given you; do not turn
from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you
go. Do not let this Book of the Torah depart from your mouth; meditate on it
day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then
you will be prosperous and successful.”

Introduction:
For some reason I felt it was time to write what you are about to read below, for sadly life in general seems to be going out of control in various ways, and sadly the world is becoming far too selfishness! Yet even in our community, as well as others life has become at times most serious. Thus if we are a good Hebrew we should be able to reach out whenever a need comes to hand! Always pray for guidance, and seek help from אֱלֹהִים (God) and through you, and your beloved faith try and keep in touch and help those who are in need!
Let us commence with our Hebraic values:
כָּבוֹד - Kavod:
Respect.
Our faith teaches us to treat ourselves and others with respect; even a stranger is to be treated with respect!
‘Kavod’ is a feeling of for the ‘rights’, ‘dignity’, ‘feelings’, ‘wishes’, and ‘abilities of others’.
Teasing and what seems to be happening more and more is name calling, which will disrespect and hurt so many, thus learn at all times to respect people’s differences and ways of life. For we are to be the example of kindness!
שָׁלוֹם בַּיִת - Shalom Bayit:
Peace in the Home.
Our community centers, such as Synagogues, youth groups, and camps which are at times a second home for some when away for a time. Everyone needs to feel comfortable, safe, and be respected at home.
We must never ostracize those who seem to be different.
Strive to settle disagreements in a peaceful and respectful way to allow all and sundry to maintain their dignity.
בְּצֶלֶם אֱלֹהִים - B’tzelem Elohim:
In אֱלֹהִים (God’s) Image.
The Torah tells us that we are all created “B’Tzelem Elohim” (Bereshit 1:27 - JPS-1917).
“And אֱלֹהִים created man in His own image, in the image of אֱלֹהִים created He him”.
This is a simple and a profound idea that should guide our interactions with all people. What is stated here you should build upon this foundation!
כָּל יִשְׂרָאֵל עֲרֵבִים זֶה בָּזֶה - Kol Yisrael Arevim Zeh Bazeh:
Communal Responsibility.
The Hebrew principle that “All Israel is responsible for one another” and we should agree with that, for each of us must take action and inspire others to create and live in a community in which we can all take pride in!
שְׁמִירַת הַלָּשׁוֹן - Sh’mirat Halashon:
Guarding One’s use of Language.
At all times we must take care in how we use ‘language’. The guideline for “Sh’mirat Halashon” reminds us that what we say about others behind their backs, even if what we say about them can and will affect them in ways we can never predict.
Words can either hurt or heal depending how we use our words.
וְאָהַבְתָּ לְרֵעֲךָ כָּמוֹךָ - V’ahavta L’reiacha Kamocha:
Love your neighbor as yourself.
Commenting on Vayikra 19:18, “love your neighbour as yourself”. This is one of the foundational values from our beloved Torah. It begins with loving ourselves, and we must love and accept our whole selves, and in doing so create the capacity for extending that love and the acceptance of others. For what we have as a faithful people to be there for them, when needed!
אַל תִּפְרַשׁ מִן הַצִּבּוּר - Ai Tifrosh Min Hatsibur:
Solidarity.
“Do not separate yourself from others. Should you feel different from others in your surroundings, do not isolate yourself. Find friends and supporters who you can talk to. And if you should find someone who is isolated, reach out and be an ally and a friend!
“If there is a poor man among your brothers … you shall not harden your heart or shut your hand against your poor brother”. Devarim 15:7. (JPS-1917).
The above commandment emphasizes the importance of generosity and compassion towards those in need.

In Conclusion, a Question to Deepen the Conversation:
Which part of the Tanach study, or possibly a particular line or
statement within it has touched you the most? And how do you feel
about spending more time studying our beloved Tanakh? I pray that you are doing
well as a faithful Hebrew, and אֱלֹהִים - Elohim willing you are upholding as many as
possible of our blessed Mitzvoth’s?
I am well aware that the modern world sadly contains too many
deviations as well as problems that seem to get in the way of
our Hebrew lifestyle. Yet worse than that, these days there are far too many
enticements, which can so easily throw many off track,
and I know that has happened far too much. Thus, if there are struggles
that are taking place in your life, be it at this or at any time, I am well
aware that sadly it can often have a terrible and a cruel effect upon your
life?
Dear reader, please remember this, pray for peace and solitude in
your life, and then work on keeping as calm as possible and learn to improve
your life, for אֱלֹהִים, בָּרוּךְ
אֱלֹהִים - Bless Elohim, He is
always there and ready to help and guide you!
This site was originally set up for those who needed to return to our
blessed and wonderful faith, thus be wise and work on your faith and pray at
least three times a day, and always seek אֱלֹהִים - Elohim’s guidance!
Remember what אֱלֹהִים - Elohim, blessed be He, said the following via a
number of our prophets...
“Return unto Me,
and I will return unto you, saith צְבָאוֹת- יְהוָה- the LORD of hosts”. Mal’a’chi - Malachi 3:7. MEC).
And Remember ...
Enjoy your Sabbath Rest, Shabbat
Shalom!

“I am אֱלֹהֵיכֶם יְהוָה
(the LORD your God); walk in My statutes,
and keep Mine ordinances, and do them; and hallow My Sabbaths, and they shall
be a sign between Me and you, that ye may know that I am אֱלֹהֵיכֶם יְהוָה - YaHVaH
Elohim”. Yechezkel - Ezekiel 20:19-20. (JPS).
