We are well aware that we as humans all have personal names, therefore the question begs, would it not be reasonable for our beloved אֱלֹהִים (Elohim - God) to have a Name? As we should all know, having used our personal names it is a big part our lives. Thus, would it not be, that our beloved אֱלֹהִים – Elohim has a Name, infect He has the Name of all Names!
In the Tanakh, אֱלֹהִים so clearly states the following:
אֲנִי יְהוָה, הוּא שְׁמִי; וּכְבוֹדִי לְאַחֵר לֹא-אֶתֵּן
“I am יְהוָה (the LORD), that is My Name; and My glory will I not give to another”. Yeshayahu – Isaiah 42:8 (MEC).
Although אֱלֹהִים (Elohim) has a number of titles including “El Shaddai,” being “Almighty אֱלֹהִים” - (Elohim) as is revealed in the next verse.
“And when Avram was ninety years old and nine, יְהוָה (the LORD) appeared to Avram, and said unto him: ‘I am ‘El Shaddai’ (אֵל שַׁדַּי) ‘El Almighty’; walk before Me, and be thou wholehearted”. Bereshit – Genesis 17:1.(MEC).
Our main translation’s of the Torah-Tanakh clearly reveals אֱלֹהִים (Elohim’s) personal Name, as it’s again shown in the following verse.
“And אֱלֹהִים spoke unto Moshe, and
said unto him: ‘I am יְהוָה
(the LORD); and I appeared unto Avraham, unto Isaac,
and unto Jacob, as אֲנִי-אֵל
שַׁדַּי - El-Shaddai (the Almighty), but by My
Name יְהוָה I made Me
not known to them”. Shemot – Exodus 6:2-3. (MEC).
יְהוָה or YaHVaH is a rendering of אֱלֹהִים - YaHVaH the blessed Name in transliterating, which was used for centuries, until it was decided by priests and rabbis for His precious Name to be removed it, and instead we where forced to use ‘Adonai’ and ‘HaSHEM’. Even tough He clearly stated that His Name would be “Forever”. For interest there are those who prefer it to be “YaHWeH”, but that is wrong.
The first part of the Tanakh was written not in the Hebrew which we have today, being of course written from right to left. In that language, the Divine Name appears as four consonants YHVH. Those four Hebrew characters transliterated as YaHVaH is known as the Tetragrammaton! However, our blessed Torah was originally written what was called “Mosaic Hieroglyphic” around 1859 to 1050 BCE, as seen below.
Mosaic Hieroglyphic’s.

However, at all times we must treat יְהוָה - the LORD, the Sacred Name, as well as אֱלֹהִים – Elohim, being His attribute, with great sanctity, as it should only be used for our daily תְּפִלָּה - Te’fee’lah’s (Prayers) and regular בְּרָכָה - Be’ra’chah’s (blessings) before food and drinks, etc!
