Re Tanakh versions:
Throughout
this site I may use any of three versions of the Tanakh: 1. “Jewish Publication Society” (JPS-1917), 2. “Mechon-Mamre.org” (MEC), and 3. “Sefaria.org” (SEF), three brilliant versions, However, the
JPS-1917 is my preferred version!
Colour coded
details of our beloved TaNaKh:
1. Torah =
History & Law, 2. Nevi’im = The Prophets. 3. *Ketuvim = all other Writings.
*The Ketuvim - Includes, Poetical
books - Psalms, Proverbs, Job, the Megillot, or
Scrolls - Song of Solomon, Ruth, Lamentations of Jeremiah, Ecclesiastes,
and Esther, prophecy of Daniel, and history of Ezra, Nehemiah, and
Chronicles I & II.
Please Note: Some alterations
or (additions) have been made relating to ‘Names’ and ‘Attributes’ of אֱלֹהִים - Elohim (God), having been corrected like it once was pre
the “Masoretic Text”.

Remember the following truth from our beloved Torah!
“Ye shall NOT ADD TO THE WORD which
I command you, NEITHER SHALL YE DIMINISH FROM
IT, that ye may keep the commandments of אֱלֹהֵיכֶם יְהוָה - the LORD your Eloleichem,
which I command you”. Davarim - Deuteronomy 4:2. (JPS-1917).

What is Torah, and why you should consider learning so much more about it! Many think that Torah just means “Law”, but in Ivrit - Hebrew it’s meaning is as follows.
“Instuction”, “Guidence”, “Direction” and “Teaching”.
Thus, it is not just a list of rules, it is יְהוָה - the LORD showing us the Hebraic people how to live correctly, and well in faith!

The Torah contains יְהוָה - the LORD’s Covenant with
His design for Community.
His teachings on ‘Love’, ‘Justice’, ‘Purity’ and ‘Worship’.
His rhythm for life, such as ‘Sabbath’, ‘Feasts’ and ‘Rest’ and ‘Ethics’.

Proverbs 3:1-9. In English. (JPS-1917).
1. “My son, forget not my teaching; but
let thy heart keep My Commandments;
2. For length of days, and years of life, and peace, will
they add to thee.
3. Let not kindness and truth forsake thee; bind them about
thy neck, write them upon the table of thy heart;
4. So shalt thou find grace and good favour in the sight of אֱלֹהִים -
Elohim and man.
5. Trust in יְהוָה - the LORD with all thy heart, and lean not upon thine own
understanding.
6. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct thy
paths.
7. Be not wise in thine own eyes; fear יְהוָה - the LORD, and depart from evil;
8. It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.
9. Honour יְהוָה - the
LORD with thy substance and with the first-fruits of all thine increase”.
What the Torah is Not:
A System of earning Salvation.
A checklist for Perfection.
A man-made cultural tradition.
But it certainly is; יְהוָה- the LORD’s wisdom for daily living.
Psalm 119:105. (JPS-1917).

How to walk in Righteousness.
How to protect the Community and cultivate Justice.

Throughout our beloved Scriptures, the Torah is described as:
“Everlasting”, “Good”, “Holy”, “Righteous” and “Truth”.
Also remember that the Prophets consistently called the people back to the beloved Torah!
Our beloved Torah is all about righteous living in the way אֱלֹהִים - Elohim asks of us. Remember He never changes, but it is a privilege to live within His Torah!

We are not to what? First of all keep אֱלֹהִים יְהוָה - the LORD Elohim FIRST in your life, Do not steal, do not lie, care for the poor, honour your parents, practice justice and mercy!
These are the foundations for all who do godliness. In fact, they were to serve as an example for other nations, that they אֱלֹהִים - Elohim willing, come and serve Him!

“See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil, in that I command thee this day to love יְהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ - the LORD thy Eloheicha, to walk in His ways, and to keep His commandments and His statutes and His ordinances; then thou shalt live and multiply, and יְהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ - the LORD thy Eloheicha shall bless thee in the land whither thou goest in to possess it”.
The closing verse for this Study: Psalms 1:1-3, this time in English. (JPS-1917).
“Happy is the man that hath not walked in the counsel of the wicked, nor stood in the way of sinners, nor sat in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of יְהוָה - the LORD; and in His law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by streams of water, that bringeth forth its fruit in its season, and whose leaf doth not wither; and in whatsoever he doeth he shall prosper”.
I pray that this study has touched you with His blessed word speaking very clearly to all of us”.
All we should listen to now is … “Return unto Me, and I will return unto you, saith צְבָאוֹת-יְהוָה - the LORD of Tzva’ot (Hosts)”.
