Please do NOT visit this site on שַׁבָּת - Shabbat or on the מוֹעֲדִים - Mo’a’dim - Feasts!

Re Tanakh versions:

Throughout this site I may use any of three versions of the Tanakh: 1. “Jewish Publication Society” (JPS-1917), 2. “Mechon-Mamre.org” (MEC), and 3. “Sefaria.org” (SEF), three brilliant versions, However, the JPS-1917 is my preferred version!

Colour coded details of our beloved TaNaKh:

1. Torah = History & Law, 2. Nevi’im = The Prophets. 3. *Ketuvim = all other Writings.

*The Ketuvim - Includes, Poetical books - Psalms, Proverbs, Job, the Megillot, or Scrolls - Song of Solomon, Ruth, Lamentations of Jeremiah, Ecclesiastes, and Esther, prophecy of Daniel, and history of Ezra, Nehemiah, and Chronicles I & II.

Please Note: Some alterations or (additions) have been made relating to ‘Names’ and ‘Attributes’ of אֱלֹהִים - Elohim (God), having been corrected like it once was pre the “Masoretic Text”.

Remember the following truth from our beloved Torah!

“Ye shall NOT ADD TO THE WORD which I command you, NEITHER SHALL YE DIMINISH FROM IT, that ye may keep the commandments of אֱלֹהֵיכֶם יְהוָה - the LORD your Eloleichem, which I command you”. Davarim - Deuteronomy 4:2. (JPS-1917).

“Welcome to the Torah”

With Rabbi, Dr. Reuven Ben Avraham-Goossens, PhD.

If you have just rediscovered that our beloved Tanakh is absolutely full of amazing details which can lead our lives into a much better state than that we have been. If that is the case, then this study is for you!

Right now, you may be feeling that you might be holding a beautiful gem of great value in your hands, yet you are sad that no one ever told you about it. You may have long ago to cut ties with your Shull and even your faith. Sadly that is the case with so any around the world, even in Israel. We learned about ‘Shabbat’ and ‘the wonderful Yom Tovim’, our feast days and the amazing fact that our אֱלֹהִים - Elohim has a wonderful and a blessed Name. Personally, I have been sharing these studies for 43 years. And to date it is a blessing to see so many more who are returning unto אֱלֹהִים יְהוָה - the LORD Elohim. I pray the tips that are below, will make the journey easier for you.

1. Forgive:

Yes, you may well have been lost from our beloved Hebraic faith. And there may well be a certain reasons for that. It is true that many of the traditions and teachings you previously were taught by rabbis, but sadly their laws were not from אֱלֹהִים - Elohim but are wholly based on man-made laws, and with that came the mystical Zohar which was composed in the 2nd century by rabbi ‘Shimon bar Yochai’. Sadly later the ‘Zohar’ became a part of the erroneous and occultic ‘Kabbalah’! But you must forgive those who taught you so much error.

Please remember that we were also taught error from days long gone. The last thousands of years there was not a mistake that caught the Creator by surprise. He has a plan and it is in the process of being carried out. Part of His plan for you, is to learn to forgive. Forgive those who taught as so much error, and pray that they, too, will understand the great truths from our beloved Torah and the rest of the Tanakh. Remember the whole of the Tanakh is in truth the only recognised blessed Scriptures we have ever been given, everything else comes from that Kabbalistic erroneous man made ideology! And yes, even the Talmud was infiltrated by that mystical Zohar. Thankfully there is nothing mystical in our beloved Tanakh. However, except for past rabbis who had the erroneously altered certain parts of the Tanakh, to suit their own evil purposes. For instance, in Psalm 56, they removed the blessed and sacred Name of our אֱלֹהִים - Elohim, which was of course originally there with the Name יְהוָה (the LORD). What did they replace it with? They disgracefully replaced it in the English translation as ‘God’ instead ‘the LORD’. In fact in this Psalm as well as in Psalm 53, they removed אֱלֹהִים - Elohim’s blessed Name seven times! Will יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵינוּ - the LORD our Eloheinu forgive those who treated His Name so disgracefully? They sadly rejected our beloved heavenly Father יְהוָה - the LORD, בָּרוּךְ שֵׁם קָדוֹשׁוֹ - ‘Baruch Shem Kadosho’ - ‘Blessed be His Holy Name!’

He has forgiven us for living a life which has not been in line with the truths of our beloved Torah/Tanakh. Ask our heavenly Father to give us a heart of Praise and Thanksgiving. Ask yourself, as we have always been ‘Hebrews’ and ‘Israelites’, why did rabbis suddenly rename our faith “Rabbinic Judaism”. Excuse me, we are a people from all the ‘Twelve Tribes’, and we were not all Judeans! For there were twelve of our tribes living there at the time of the destruction of our beloved Temple.

In addition, erroneous priests and rabbis suddenly claimed that we could no longer use the blessed Name of יְהוָה - however אֱלֹהִים - Elohim cursed those who decided that!

Let us look at Malachi Chapter 2, verses 1 to 3: (JPS-1917 version of the Tanakh). The verses are first in Hebrew, followed by the English translation:

“And now, this commandment is for you, O ye priests. If ye will not hearken, and if ye will not lay it to heart, to give glory unto My Name, saith the LORD of hosts, then will I send the curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings; yea, I curse them, because ye do not lay it to heart. Behold, I will rebuke the seed for your hurt, and will spread dung upon your faces, even the dung of your sacrifices; and ye shall be taken away unto it”.

Does this not tell you everything of the great evil of those priests in those days and yes also the rabbis who were deeply into the occult and supported the priests. But it were the rabbis who had the gall to rename us as ‘Yehudim’ (יְהוּדִים), plural for ‘Yehudi’ (יְהוּדִי), which derives from the ancient ‘tribe of Judah’ (Yehudah, יְהוּדָה), thus we suddenly became ‘Rabbinic Judaism’, which became ‘Judaism’, ‘Jewish’, and ‘Jews’, etc. As I said above all twelve tribes lived in Judah at that time. Thus we should have remained named Hebrews and Israelites!

2. Humble yourself:

Now, you have learned some powerful detail from the above! I pray that you have been enlightened to the truth about our beloved Torah! Please אֱלֹהִים - Elohim, I pray that you may have decided to keep Sabbath and I pray that you would not even dream of eating pork, etc! Now, please be on constant guard against ‘pride’. You do not know everything. You are not better than anyone else. And the more you learn, the more you will realize what you did not know. Thus please do not act like a know-it-all and put down other people that do not see things the way you do now having returned to our Creator. You have been given a gift and you should have nothing but gratitude in your heart!

3. Spread out.

Do not limit yourself to one teacher, for no one has everything right, but may have something to offer. Put your spiritual mind to practice and begin feeding yourself from our wonderful 24 books, being the Tanakh of course. You must check everything you hear. Be able to back up our beliefs based on our ‘Hebraic Scriptures’, the Tanakh. Learn to study yourself so that you have something to share with others.

4. Enjoy the journey.

Having returned to אֱלֹהִים יְהוָה - the LORD Elohim, blessed be He, you are in for the ride of your life. Enjoy learning new things, and understanding all those things that your Heavenly Father s revealing things day in day out. Be patient with those around you. Help others along the way. Do not murmur or complain. Understand that our beloved Scriptures have many layers, and one passage of Scripture can have several meanings. ‘Love your neighbour as yourself’. Love יְהוָה - the LORD with all your ‘heart’, ‘soul’, ‘mind’, and ‘strength’.

What have you been struggling with the most at the beginning? Which of the tips above have touched the most with you?

Online there are many studies related to “Torah Living”, it contains details that expounds on the above and will help you to start with a new solid foundation. For now, I pray that the above has been a small part of your Torah journey!

“And it shall come to pass, when all these things are come upon thee, the blessing and the curse, which I have set before thee, and thou shalt bethink thyself among all the nations, whither יְהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ - the LORD thy Eloheicha hath driven thee, and shalt return unto יְהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ - the LORD thy Eloheicha, and hearken to His voice according to all that I command thee this day, thou and thy children, with all thy heart, and with all thy soul; that then יְהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ - the LORD thy Eloheicha will turn thy captivity, and have compassion upon thee, and will return and gather thee from all the peoples, whither יְהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ - the LORD thy Eloheicha hath scattered thee”. Deuteronomy 30:1-3. (JPS-1917 version of the Torah).
