Please do NOT visit this site on שַׁבָּת - Shabbat or on the מוֹעֲדִים - Mo’a’dim - Feasts!

Re Tanakh versions:

Throughout this site I may use any of three versions of the Tanakh: 1. “Jewish Publication Society” (JPS-1917), 2. “Mechon-Mamre.org” (MEC), and 3. “Sefaria.org” (SEF), three brilliant versions, However, the JPS-1917 is my preferred version!

Colour coded details of our beloved TaNaKh:

1. Torah = History & Law, 2. Nevi’im = The Prophets. 3. *Ketuvim = all other Writings.

*The Ketuvim - Includes, Poetical books - Psalms, Proverbs, Job, the Megillot, or Scrolls - Song of Solomon, Ruth, Lamentations of Jeremiah, Ecclesiastes, and Esther, prophecy of Daniel, and history of Ezra, Nehemiah, and Chronicles I & II.

Please Note: Some alterations or (additions) have been made relating to ‘Names’ and ‘Attributes’ of אֱלֹהִים - Elohim (God), having been corrected like it once was pre the “Masoretic Text”.

Remember the following truth from our beloved Torah!

“Ye shall NOT ADD TO THE WORD which I command you, NEITHER SHALL YE DIMINISH FROM IT, that ye may keep the commandments of אֱלֹהֵיכֶם יְהוָה - the LORD your Eloleichem, which I command you”. Davarim - Deuteronomy 4:2. (JPS-1917).

“Verses re Keeping the Law”

With Rabbi, Dr. Reuven Ben Avraham-Goossens, PhD.

We are so blessed with our beloved תַּנַ"ךְ - Tanakh for it is packed with verses that reveals so much to us about our beloved ‘Law’ - מִּצְווֹת - ‘Mitzvot’, which was given to us only in our Tanakh!

However, in Ivrit - Hebrew, the word ‘Law’ can also mean תּוֹרָה - Torah, which literally translates to ‘teaching’, ‘instruction’, or ‘guidance”, etc.

Below I will provide a wonderful list of verses re אֱלֹהִים - Elohim’s blessed מִּצְווֹת - ‘Mitzvot’.

(Please Note: All verses are from the JPS-1917 version).

1. The Torah:

Exodus 19:5.

“Now therefore, if ye will hearken unto My voice indeed, and keep My Covenant, then ye shall be Mine own treasure from among all peoples; for all the earth is Mine”.

Deuteronomy 6:6-7.

“And these words, which I Command thee this day, shall be upon thy heart; and thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thy house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up”.

Deuteronomy 11:13-14.

“And it shall come to pass, if ye shall hearken diligently unto My Commandments which I command you this day, to love יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם - the LORD your Eloheichem, and to serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul, that I will give the rain of your land in its season, the former rain and the latter rain, that thou mayest gather in thy corn, and thy wine, and thine oil”.

Deuteronomy 28:1.

“And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of יְהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ - the LORD thy Eloheicha, to observe to do all His Commandments which I command thee this day, that יְהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ - the LORD thy Eloheicha will set thee on high above all the nations of the earth”.

Deuteronomy 30:15-16.

“See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil; in that I command thee this day to love יְהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ - the LORD thy Eloheicha, to walk in His ways, and to keep His Commandments and His statutes and His ordinances, that thou mayest live and multiply, and יְהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ - the LORD thy Eloheicha shall bless thee in the land whither thou goest in to possess it”.

2. The Nevi’im (Prophets):

Joshua 1:8.
