Remember the following truth from

“Ye shall NOT ADD TO THE WORD which
I command you, NEITHER SHALL YE DIMINISH FROM
IT, that ye may keep the commandments of יְהוָה
אֱלֹהֵיכֶם - the LORD your Eloleichem, which I command you”. Davarim -
Deuteronomy 4:2. (JPS-1917).

עֲשֶׂרֶת הַדִּבְּרוֹת - Aseret Hadibrot

In שְׁמוֹת - Shemot - Exodus Chapter 20, we find our beloved עֲשֶׂרֶת
הַדִּבְּרוֹת - Aseret Hadibrot. I will provide the
Commandments; Please Note: the verses below are from the JPS-1917 version of
our beloved Torah.
Let us first view the simplified version of עֲשֶׂרֶת
הַדִּבְּרוֹת - Aseret Hadibrot, in English and of course
in Ivrit - Hebrew: Further down the page I will show the actual chapter in
full, again in English and Ivrit.
Introduction:
Exodus 20, verses 1 to 13, presents the
opening section of what is known as the ‘Aseret Ha’Dibrot’
the “Ten Commandments”, which was delivered directly by אֱלֹהִים - Elohim (God) to Israel at Mount Horeb in the Sinai wilderness. The JPS‑1917
translation, the text emphasizes אֱלֹהִים - Elohim’s authority,

Below are the basics of the Commandments, whilst further below are the full verses.
1. “I am the LORD your אֱלֹהֶיךָ - Eloheicha (God)”.
אָנֹכִי יְהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ אֲשֶׁר הוֹצֵאתִיךָ מֵאֶרֶץ מִצְרַיִם מִבֵּית עֲבָדִים
2. “You shall have no other gods before Me”.

1. “And Elohim
spoke all these words, saying:

אֱלֹהִים, אֵת
כָּל-הַדְּבָרִים
הָאֵלֶּה
לֵאמֹר
2. I am the
LORD thy Eloheicha (God), who brought thee out of the

6. Thou shalt
not take the name of the LORD thy Eloheycha in vain;
for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh

My Closing Message:
Exodus 20:1-13 lays the groundwork for a life shaped by ‘reverence’, ‘responsibility’, and ‘ethical clarity’. The text presents a vision in which devotion to אֱלֹהִים - Elohim and respect for ‘fellow human beings’ are inseparable. These verses call the reader to remember ‘liberation’, ‘uphold justice’, and ‘cultivate holiness in daily conduct’. The “Ten Commandments” can also be found in Devarim - Deuteronomy chapter 5.

seek our beloved אֱלֹהִים - Elohim’s guidance, for His love is always with us,
especially when we seek Him, blessed be He! However this site has become very
much a teaching site with hundreds of studies!
Remember what אֱלֹהִים - Elohim, blessed be He, said the following via
several of our prophets...
“Return unto Me, and I will return unto you, saith צְבָאוֹת- יְהוָה- the LORD of
hosts”
Mal’a’chi - Malachi 3:7. (JPS).

regular בְּרָכָה - Be’ra’chah’s - blessings before
food and drinks, etc!
