Re Tanakh versions:

Throughout this site I may use any of three versions of the Tanakh: 1. “Jewish Publication Society” (JPS-1917), 2. “Mechon-Mamre.org” (MEC). These are two brilliant versions, However, the JPS-1917 is my preferred version!

Colour coded details of our beloved TaNaKh:

1. Torah = History & Law, 2. Nevi’im = The Prophets. 3. *Ketuvim = all other Writings.

*The Ketuvim - Includes, Poetical books - Psalms, Proverbs, Job, the Megillot, or Scrolls - Song of Solomon, Ruth, Lamentations of Jeremiah, Ecclesiastes, and Esther, prophecy of Daniel, and history of Ezra, Nehemiah, and Chronicles I & II.

Please Note: Some alterations or (additions) have been made relating to ‘Names’ and ‘Attributes’ of אֱלֹהִים - Elohim, having been corrected like it once was pre the “Masoretic Text”.

Remember the following truth from our beloved Torah!

“Ye shall NOT ADD TO THE WORD which I command you, NEITHER SHALL YE DIMINISH FROM IT, that ye may keep the commandments of אֱלֹהֵיכֶם יְהוהָ  - the LORD your Eloleichem, which I command you”. Davarim - Deuteronomy 4:2. (JPS-1917).

“Proclaim His Name”

On this page I have eight verses in which we are

clearly told by אֱלֹהִים - Elohim to use His Blessed Name!

And also the following …

“Do not Add or Take Away from the Word, which I command you”

Deuteronomy 4:2 - Paraphrased.

With Rabbi, Dr. Reuven Ben Avraham-Goossens, PhD.

This study has taken quite a long time to complete, for it has been written whilst seeking אֱלֹהִים - Elohim’s (God’s) loving guidance as I am so aware that any study may well touch many lives. In addition, I am so aware that every word that is written by my hand, which I am fully responsible for. Some parts of this study may be more difficult than other sections, but I pray in the Name of אֱלֹהִים יְהוָה - the LORD Elohim that it will please Him?

What is so important being, that we must accept the wonderful teaching of our beloved Tanakh for what other teaching can we possibly accept? It is vital that we should understand how the blessed Word of אֱלֹהִים - Elohim was compiled by Moshe, Joshua and Elohim’s chosen Prophets. However sadly later both priests as well as rabbis sadly removed אֱלֹהִים – Elohim’s blessed Name of יְהוָה - the LORD, blessed be His Sanctified Name, and forced us you use something, which is in reality very insulting unto our beloved יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵינוּ - the LORD our Eloheinu, such as calling our אֱלֹהִים - Elohim as ‘HaShem’ just think what our prayers are really saying, let us try it one in English, so that we can understand how shocking it really is!

“Heavenly Father, I come before you in Your blessed theName, I pray in theName and I seek your loving guidance”.

Well that is what HaShem actually means ‘theName’ and using that is a terrible insult to our יְהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ - the LORD thy Eloheicha! I clearly understand that we should never use the Blessed Name in vain; However it is completely suitable to be used for Prayer, Torah study, and Blessings. However, in our Synagogues, all we seem to hear in prayers, etc, is ‘HaShem’ and ‘Adonai’, and neither of these are our beloved Father’s Name, but it is based on a ‘attribute’! I use His beloved Name in the context of being a rabbi who teaches our beloved Scriptures, as we did for so long ago. until it was removed from us toward the end time of the Second Temple, no wonder our beloved בֵּית הַמִּקְדָּשׁ - Beis Hamikdash was destroyed, אֱלֹהִים - Elohim had enough of us doing the very opposite to His commandments.

Did you know that there are countless verses throughout our beloved Tanakh where we are clearly told by אֱלֹהִים - Elohim to use His blessed Name! Below are seven of the many such messages in the Tanakh.

Genesis 26:25. “And he builded an altar there, and called upon the Name of יְהוָה - the LORD, and pitched his tent there...”

1 Kings 18:24. “And call ye on the Name of your god, and I will call on the Name of יְהוָה; and the אֱלֹהִים - Elohim that answereth by fire, let him be אֱלֹהִים”.

2 Kings 5:11. “But Naaman was wroth, and went away, and said: ‘Behold, I thought: He will surely come out to me, and stand, and call on the Name of יְהוָה his אֱלֹהִים, and wave his hand over the place, and recover the leper’”.

Jeremiah 29:12. “And ye shall call upon Me, and go and pray unto Me, and I will hearken unto you”.

Isaiah 12:4. “And in that day shall ye say: ‘Give thanks unto יְהוָה - the LORD, proclaim His Name, declare His doings among the people, make mention that His Name is exalted’”.

Isaiah 55:6. “Seek ye יְהוָה - the LORD while He may be found, call ye upon Him while He is near”.

Joel 3:5. “And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the Name of יְהוָה - the LORD shall be delivered...”

If the above verses does not reveal to us, what our beloved יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵינוּ - the LORD our Eloheinu’s wishes are, when you need to repent on Yom Kippur, I suggest that you in prayers start using His beloved Name! For the truth is, as seen above He desires us to do so!

However priests (and rabbis still do) removed His loving Name, and of course אֱלֹהִים - Elohim cursed them, and had dung thrown upon them. Just read Malachi Chapter 2, verses 1 to 3 from the JPS-1917 version of the Tanakh, be assured, you will be shocked!

Let us pray that from our blessed Tanach no further changes will be made, for sadly it has been done. Did you know that even in Psalms 53 and 56 a long time ago they removed the blessed Name of יְהוָה from these two Psalms, and replaced the Sacred Name with אֱלֹהִים whilst in the English, instead of it being written as the ‘the LORD’, they replaced it with ‘God’. What they did is place themselves guilty for His Word clearly state;

“Ye shall NOT ADD TO THE WORD which I command you, NEITHER SHALL YE DIMINISH FROM IT, that ye may keep the commandments of יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם - the LORD your Eloheichem which I command you”. Deuteronomy 4:2.

But the priests and rabbis actually have did a great error, thus what does our Torah actually say about what those evil priests, and yes as well as rabbi’s? Sadly they are still messing with His truth. Thus if the following does not touch you, you are already lost!

If that does not say it all for you, than sadly our beloved faith is going down the drain!

Part One

The Word:

It is for this reason I come before you in the most precious Name of אֱלֹהִים יְהוָה - the LORD Elohim our Creator, יְהוָה בָּרוּךְ - Bless the LORD, who in great love has given so much of Himself by clearly giving us our beloved Torah.

We should understand that the Scriptures we received in the original; and I do mean the “Tanach” is full of beauty and packed with countless blessed Treasures and Gems, but also some sad coverage of our people who went too far, and thus are astray from אֱלֹהִים - Elohim.

However, I do have to tell you that sadly so much of אֱלֹהִים - Elohim’s blessed and perfect Word is simply not understood by so many of those who are supposed to lead and teach us.

The blessed Scriptures teaches us a great deal, for it reveals to us of the beginnings of the heaven and the earth and all that is good around us, the creation of the man (Adam) and the woman (Chavah - Eve) who lived in the Garden of Eden. They were given the very first commandment “… but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat”, (Genesis 2:17). Then came the first sin, and the consequences of sin. However, right there in Genesis a prophetic hint was given of how אֱלֹהִים יְהוָה - the LORD Elohim, blessed be His Sanctified Name, had already placed in motion a unique plan of redemption for mankind, which would be continually revealed to us through a multitude of prophetic events and prophecies given by His chosen men throughout the Tanach.

We know that most ancient texts were originally written on parchment Scrolls, such as the Torah being the Five Books of Moshe, and when combined with all the Prophetic Books, Psalms, etc, it makes up the Tanach a total of 24 books, and they at first were written with what is called; “Paleo-Hebrew Script”. However, at a later date it was transcribed into the square Hebrew letter script during the “Masoretic” times.

Over time, there were changes from the original “Paleo-Hebrew Script”, being into Hebrew.

The three levels of learning & understanding of the blessed Word of יְהוָה - Elohim:

When we read and study the blessed Scriptures, the Word of אֱלֹהִים - Elohim, we should keep the following three steps always in mind for they are a valuable guide and it will certainly provide us with guidance and illuminate the sheer beauty and the fullness of Elohim’s most blessed Word.

1. Who was אֱלֹהִים יְהוָה - the LORD Elohim, blessed be His Sanctified Name, speaking to?

2. When was it said?

3. How was His Word understood at the time it was spoken/given?

I do believe that these three points are most relevant to our understanding of; 1. What the Almighty is saying at the time. 2. As well as what it means to us today - and 3. Especially to you and me right now!

Let us read Yeshayahu - Isaiah 14:3-5;

“And it shall come to pass in the day that יְהוָה - the LORD shall give thee rest from thy travail, and from thy trouble, and from the hard service wherein thou wast made to serve, that thou shalt take up this parable against the king of Babylon, and say: How hath the oppressor ceased! The exactress of gold ceased! יְהוָה - the LORD hath broken the staff of the wicked, the sceptre of the rulers.” Isaiah 14:3-5.

“A Psalm of the sons of Korah; a Song. His foundation is in the holy mountains. יְהוָה - the LORD loveth the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob. Glorious things are spoken of thee, O city (Jeusalem) of אֱלֹהִים - Elohim. Selah”. Psalm 87:1-3;

“O Jerusalem, the *holy city”. Isaiah 52:1.

*Hebrew for “holy” is “HaKodesh” meaning; “holy”, “sacred” and “sanctified”.

But first we will check out what was really written in verse 12 of chapter 14, first we will see it in the original Ivrit - Hebrew and an accurate English translation!

אֵיךְ נָפַלְתָּ מִשָּׁמַיִם, הֵילֵל בֶּן-שָׁחַר; נִגְדַּעְתָּ לָאָרֶץ, חוֹלֵשׁ עַל-גּוֹיִם

“How art thou fallen from heaven, O day-star, son of the morning? How art thou cut down to the ground, that didst cast lots over the nations!” Isaiah 14:12.

Believe it or not, the Church of Rome claims that this verse is all about their “Lucifer”, however the roman Lucifer is nowhere to be found in our original Hebrew text, thus where did it come from? I will explain the details shortly. But everyone who has even a small amount of knowledge of Hebrew will agree that obviously it was the Church of Rome who added the word “Lucifer” in their bibles, for the Hebrew word in our Scriptures is in fact; הֵילֵל - “Hehlel”, which literally means “day star” or “morning star”.

But you may be asking, ‘What are those “key words” you spoke about earlier?’ Of course this chapter should be read as a whole and it is one that contains a powerful message that Isaiah has to take up against the king of Babylon who thinks a little  too much of himself, to say the least and he needs to be brought down!

“And it shall come to pass in the day that יְהוָה - the LORD shall give thee rest from thy travail, and from thy trouble, and from the hard service wherein thou wast made to serve, that thou shalt take up this parable against the king of Babylon, and say: How hath the oppressor ceased!” Isaiah 14:3-4.

Thus it has nothing to do with that adversary they call Satan or the Devil, but a mere man who happens to be a king, and our Heavenly Father uses His prophet to bring him right down to earth! End of that story, the fact of chapter 14 and verse 12 is clear

Concluding the Above:

Friends the point is this, man can alter the most Sanctified and Precious Word of אֱלֹהִים יְהוָה - the LORD Elohim, blessed be His Sanctified Name, if they so wish but they will do this at the peril of their lives, for “the wages of sin is death”. For it is one of the gravest of sins! Of course we are permitted to translate His Word, but we MUST translate it with great care and remain close to what our blessed Father and His chosen Prophets had clearly told us in the original Scriptures, the Tanach! Remember we have been told that we cannot alter or change His Word in any shape or form!

“Add thou not unto His words, lest He reprove thee, and thou be found a liar”. Proverbs 30:6.

Part Two will be online soon.
