Colour coded details of our beloved TaNaKh:

1. Torah = History & Law, 2. Nevi’im = The Prophets. 3. *Ketuvim = all other Writings.

Remember the following truth from our beloved Torah!

“Ye shall NOT ADD TO THE WORD which I command you, NEITHER SHALL YE DIMINISH FROM IT, that ye may keep the commandments of אֱלֹהֵיכֶם יְהוָה - the LORD your Eloleichem, which I command you”. Davarim - Deuteronomy 4:2. (JPS-1917).

“Our Scriptures the Tanakh”

All other writings are 100% man-made!.

With Rabbi, Dr. Reuven Ben Avraham-Goossens, PhD.

Our beloved Tanakh lies at the heart and soul of our beloved faith, and it has an unparalleled collection of 24 remarkable books. The Tanakh is accessible and enjoyable for us of the ‘Hebraic Community’ world wide, as well as the most sophisticated of ‘scholars’ and ‘deep thinkers’. It is a singular privilege to encounter its Sacred words, to engage with its eternal “Messages”, and to be galvanized to greater ‘ethical’ and ‘social action’ and ‘spiritual growth’  as a result of our studying our wonderful Tanakh!

From the perspective of religious students of Tanakh, we have remarkable opportunities today. For we have available to us Scriptural study in areas including, but not limited to, ‘literary analysis’, ‘archaeology’ and ‘history’, and ‘linguistics’. The information we really need is readily available from our beloved Tanakh and there is no doubt that it is breathtaking!

I have been asked once, “How do we balance this flood of thoughts and methodology with the fact that many rabbis having brought their own ‘assumptions’ and ‘biases’ into our faith and sadly they have greatly messed things up? Are there means for sorting through which ‘information’ and ‘methodology’ is beneficial for our growth in faith? Yes stick only to our beloved Tanakh! The truth is that so much of the rabbinic errors must be at large discarded! Ultimately, the ‘litmus test of success’ for our study of the Tanakh is that it deepens our commitments to אֱלֹהִים יְהוָה - the LORD Elohim and inspires us to greater ethical behaviour, and with ‘intellectual honesty’ and ‘integrity’?

When we learn and share and teach from the Tanakh correctly, we convey a sense of ‘holiness’ and ‘reverence’, coupled with ‘respect for individuality’ and intellectual struggle’ with some of our ‘most sacred texts’ and scriptural ‘traditions’. Our Tanakh has the singular ability to ‘inspire’ and ‘edify people of all ages’ and ‘backgrounds’. Our Tanakh enables our ‘minds’, ‘hearts’, and ‘souls’ to complement one another into a ‘blessed spiritual and intellectual experience’. The maturation of our sophisticated Tanakh study provides us with a system with which to navigate the complicated contours of scholarship and religious growth. Yes, I am a rabbi, thus a teacher, but there have been rabbis and educators in the past who had a immense responsibility to sort through available ‘information’, ‘commentaries’, and ‘methodologies’ in order to steer the discussion for the benefit of the community. However, that simply did not happen, for they, as we should know by now that the so-called Sages completely messed up, as they concocted (invented) new laws and they claimed that they were actually from אֱלֹהִים - Elohim, but was not, for that evil 2nd century mystical book the ‘Zohar’, that much later entered into the occultic ‘Kabbalah’ as well as into the Talmud, each of these being wholly man made material, and it is not scriptural in any way!

Scholarly conclusions we know off, has made a direct impact on our lives and our religious life, but sadly rabbis were adding their own thing into our Torah laws, with countless man-made laws, pretending they were ‘oral’. The truth is that no human can remember for well over a thousand plus years, those thousands of their created new laws! I will stick with the blessed 613 Mitzvoth we were given, and then not all of these laws will relate to us as individuals, it depends who and what we are.

Let us now prove what has been written above:

The Jewish Publication Society 1917 (JPS-1917) the Torah explicitly states that אֱלֹהִים - Elohim’s commandments given in the Torah are complete and final, prohibiting any addition or subtraction in two main passages in the Torah (in the book of Deuteronomy):

Deuteronomy 4:2.

“Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish from it, that ye may keep the commandments of יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם - the LORD your Eloheichem which I command you”.

But let us now look at Deuteronomy 13:1.

“Et kol-hadavar, asher anokhi metzaveh etkhem - oto tishmeru, la’asot: lo-tosef alav, ve-lo tigra mimenu”.

“All this word which I command you, that shall ye observe to do; thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it”.

Below is a Word-by-Word Breakdown:

אֵת כָּל-הַדָּבָר (Et kol-hadavar): Everything / every word.

אֲשֶׁר אָנֹכִי מְצַוֶּה אֶתְכֶם (asher anokhi metzaveh etkhem): that I command you.

אֹתוֹ תִשְׁמְרוּ, לַעֲשׂוֹת (oto tishmeru, la'asot): it you shall take care to do.

לֹא-תֹסֵף עָלָיו (lo-tosef alav): you shall not add to it.

וְלֹא תִגְרַע מִמֶּנּוּ (ve-lo tigra mimenu): and you shall not subtract from it.

In Deuteronomy’s two powerful verses above, we read these amazingly powerful messages from אֱלֹהִים יְהוָה - the LORD Elohim Himself? Was there ever a tiny mention whatsoever in the Torah regarding an ‘oral law? That is a massive NO, for there is not even the smallest of hints within the entire Torah about their wholly man-made (rabbinic additions), for it was all just rabbinic lies!

YYYYYYY

Prohibition Against Change: The directive ‘לֹא-תֹסֵף עָלָיו - ‘lo-tosef alav’ is (shall not add), and לֹא תִגְרַע - ‘lo tigra’ (do not subtract) serves as a foundational Scriptural boundary ensuring that there is no ‘human authority’, ‘leader’, or that a ‘subsequent text is permitted to enter and alter the foundational laws’ as given by אֱלֹהִים - Elohim to Israel within the Torah alone!

Key Context:

Completion of the Law (Deuteronomy 31:24):

וַיְהִי כְּכַלּוֹת מֹשֶׁה, לִכְתֹּב אֶת-דִּבְרֵי הַתּוֹרָה-הַזֹּאת-עַל-סֵפֶר: עַד, תֻּמָּם

“And it came to pass, when Moses had made an end of writing the words of this law in a book, until they were finished”.

Towards the very end of Deuteronomy, Moses completes writing the entire Law into a scroll (“when Moses had made an end of writing the words of this law in a book, until they were finished”) this was kept alongside the “Ark of the Covenant”, establishing the textual Torah as being 100% complete!

Knowing that, are you going to uphold the rubbish our past rabbis have concocted, for our blessed Scriptures actually tells us they are FAKE: just like the mystical and occultist ‘Zohar” and the occultist ‘Kabbalah, with their fake Talmud being filed with that ‘Zohar’ rubbish! All the mystical works are thanks to the Synagogue in Tzfat - Safed, Israel, and it is known as the global capital of “Jewish mystical and occult Kabbalah!

It is time we return to the faith as was given to us by our loving, יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵינוּ - the LORD our Eloheinu, בָּרוּךְ שֵׁם קָדוֹשׁוֹ - ‘Baruch Shem Kadosho’ - ‘Blessed be His Holy Name!’
