Throughout this site I may use any of three versions of the Tanakh: 1. “Jewish Publication Society” (JPS-1917), 2. “Mechon-Mamre.org” (MEC), and 3. “Sefaria.org” (SEF), three brilliant versions, However, I prefer the JPS-1917 version!

1. Torah = History & Law, 2. Nevi’im = The Prophets. 3. *Ketuvim = all other Writings.

*The Ketuvim - Includes, Poetical books - Psalms, Proverbs, Job, the Megillot, or Scrolls - Song of Solomon, Ruth, Lamentations of Jeremiah, Ecclesiastes, and Esther, prophecy of Daniel, and history of Ezra, Nehemiah, and Chronicles I & II.

Please Note: Some alterations or (additions) have been made relating to ‘Names’ and ‘Attributes’ of אֱלֹהִים - Elohim (God), having been corrected like it once was pre the “Masoretic Text”.

Our Beloved Texts:

TaNaKh: The Tanakh is our main and only Hebrew text containing all three divisions of our beloved Scriptures containing, the ‘Torah’, the ‘Nevi’im’ and the ‘Ketuvim’.

The term ‘TaNaKh’ is an acronym based on each of the three divisions (‘Torah’, ‘Nevi’im’, and ‘Ketuvim’). Our tradition sees these three divisions to have different degrees of Divine inspiration based on how they were revealed to humans by אֱלֹהִים יְהוָה - the LORD Elohim (God), בָּרוּךְ שֵׁם קָדוֹשׁוֹ - ‘Baruch Shem Kadosho’ - ‘Blessed be His Holy Name!’

Torah:

The Torah contains the first five books of the Hebrew Scriptures such as: (Bereshit - Genesis, Shemot - Exodus, Vayikra - Leviticus, Bamidbar - Numbers and Devarim - Deuteronomy. These books are considered to be the very foundation of our Hebrew faith. Of course, they are also known as the ‘five books of Moshe - Moses’ as Moses wrote the texts, whilst much of it was given to him by אֱלֹהִים - Elohim. The five books that make up the Torah have without a doubt the highest degree of Divine inspiration!

Nevi’im:

The Nevi’im (‘Prophets’) contains historical books and texts composed by literary prophets. The Nevi’im was inspired through prophecy, meaning the word of אֱלֹהִים - Elohim was passed down and mediated through prophets.

Ketuvim:

The Ketuvim (‘Writings’) contains works of ‘poetry’, ‘wisdom’, ‘song’ and ‘history’. The Ketuvim is believed to have been inspired on a slightly lesser degree than prophecy.

Our General Beliefs:

Across all streams of the Hebrew faith, there is no exact established set of doctrines or beliefs. Doctrinal authority in our faith is typically derived through our sacred Torah and our beloved scripture the Tanakh, that has our traditions and all our laws (mitzvot)! Outside of the Tanakh there is no other scriptural Hebrew source, even though rabbis, (men) attempted to add their own ideas.

אֱלֹהִים - Elohim:

In our tradition espouses ‘monotheism’, which refers to belief in the existence of one and only one אֱלֹהִים – Elohim, בָּרוּךְ אֱלֹהִים - Bless Elohim! Generally speaking, the Hebrew tradition views אֱלֹהִים - Elohim as a universal, unique, unifying, unknowable and formless entity. Due to אֱלֹהִים - Elohim’s unknowable nature, it is believed that language cannot truly capture אֱלֹהִים - Elohim. Thus, traditional streams of Judaism will often avoid speaking the word ‘אֱלֹהִים - Elohim’ or similar formulations of the term. The most often used Name of אֱלֹהִים - Elohim in the Tanakh is יְהוָה - the LORD, which are the Hebrew letters of ‘Yud’, ‘He’, ‘Vav’, ‘He’ Expanded in English as יְהוָה - the LORD. אֱלֹהִים - Elohim’s Name is prolific throughout our ancient tradition, yet much later priests and rabbis disgracefully removed it without permission!

What does our blessed Scriptures say about the use of the most sacred Name?

Below are a good number of blessed Scriptures that will make it very clear that the blessed Name was used countless times!

1. אֱלֹהִים - Elohim’s Name is His Calling Card:

In Exodus 3:15, אֱלֹהִים tells Moses His Name is יְהוָה - the LORD says, this is His Name forever.

וַיֹּאמֶר עוֹד אֱלֹהִים אֶל-מֹשֶׁה, כֹּה-תֹאמַר אֶל-בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל, יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵי אֲבֹתֵיכֶם אֱלֹהֵי אַבְרָהָם אֱלֹהֵי יִצְחָק וֵאלֹהֵי יַעֲקֹב, שְׁלָחַנִי אֲלֵיכֶם; זֶה-שְּׁמִי לְעֹלָם, וְזֶה זִכְרִי לְדֹר דֹּר

“And אֱלֹהִים said moreover unto Moses: ‘Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel: יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵי - the LORD the Elohim of your fathers, the אֱלֹהִים of Abraham, the אֱלֹהִים of Isaac, and the אֱלֹהִים of Jacob, hath sent me unto you; this is My Name forever, and this is My memorial unto all generations”. (JPS-1917 version of the Torah).

He (אֱלֹהִים) later proclaims His Name to Moses in Exodus 33:19.

וַיֹּאמֶר, אֲנִי אַעֲבִיר כָּל-טוּבִי עַל-פָּנֶיךָ, וְקָרָאתִי בְשֵׁם יְהוָה, לְפָנֶיךָ; וְחַנֹּתִי אֶת-אֲשֶׁר אָחֹן, וְרִחַמְתִּי אֶת-אֲשֶׁר אֲרַחֵם

“And He said: ‘I will make all My goodness pass before thee, and will proclaim the Name of יְהוָה - the LORD before thee; and I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show mercy on whom I will show mercy’”.

2. Calling Upon His Name:
The phrase “calling on the Name” means to ‘pray’, ‘worship’, and ‘ask for help’.

וַיִּקְרָא בְּשֵׁם יְהוָה

“…and (Abram) called upon the Name of יְהוָה - the LORD”.

וְהָיָה, כֹּל אֲשֶׁר-יִקְרָא בְּשֵׁם יְהוָה-יִמָּלֵט

“And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the Name of יְהוָה - the LORD shall be delivered”.

3. I called upon the Name: Psalm 116 verses 4 and 13. (JPS-1917).

Verse 4:

וּבְשֵׁם-יְהוָה אֶקְרָא: אָנָּה יְהוָה, מַלְּטָה נַפְשִׁי

“But I called upon the name of יְהוָה - the LORD: 'I beseech thee, O יְהוָה - LORD, deliver my soul”. Verse 4.

Verse 13:

כּוֹס-יְשׁוּעוֹת אֶשָּׂא; וּבְשֵׁם יְהוָה אֶקְרָא

“I will lift up the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of יְהוָה - the LORD.”

We the People of Israel:

The role of us the Hebraic people and our relationship with אֱלֹהִים - Elohim features prominently throughout our faith. According to the Torah, אֱלֹהִים - Elohim established a unique covenant with our people and to be shared with others. This is generally interpreted as us having been chosen to uphold a specific duty, namely, to maintain the covenant with אֱלֹהִים - Elohim and in return to receive אֱלֹהִים - Elohim’s Divine blessing and to channel it to all of humanity. Furthermore, there is a need for us to remain distinctive in reflection and honour of the unique relationship they are believed to hold with אֱלֹהִים - Elohim. This is reflected throughout our ‘practices’ and ‘laws’, such as ‘dietary laws’ and laws relating to purity.

The Land of Israel:

The nature and importance of our connection to the land of Israel - Yisrael has been interpreted in various ways throughout history. The region of present-day Israel is described in the Torah as the ‘ancient land of Canaan’. In the text, this land was promised and given to the Israelites by אֱלֹהִים - Elohim (referred to as the ‘Promised Land’).

The contents of this study came about after many years of reading the most ancient texts in Jerusalem, and therefore I believe that the Tanakh is the only source that is what was given to us, and not all those later rabbinic thoughts, of which is sadly based on mystical and occult ideologies from the unscriptural works based on the occultist ‘Zohar’ and the ‘Kabbalah!’ Yet these days that kind of rubbish is being taught in so many Synagogues worldwide, thus by the rabbinic enemy within, the very men who removed our beloved אֱלֹהִים - Elohim’s Name!

In two Psalms they actually, and illegally removed His blessed Name יְהוָה - the LORD and in the Ivrit they replaced His Name with אֱלֹהִים (being an attribute - Who He is), thus in the translation His blessed Name became ‘God’, which it is not! In each of these Psalms sadly there seven changes of His Name. Check those two Psalms for yourself - Chapters 53 and 56!

This site was originally created, for those who desired to return to our blessed and wonderful faith. Thus be wise and work on your faith and pray at least two or three times a day (if possible) and always seek our beloved אֱלֹהִים - Elohim’s guidance, for His love is always with us, especially when we seek Him, blessed be He! However this site has become very much a teaching site with hundreds of studies!

Remember what אֱלֹהִים - Elohim, blessed be He, said the following through a number of our prophets...

“Return unto Me, and I will return unto you, saith צְבָאוֹת- יְהוָה- the LORD of hosts” Mal’a’chi - Malachi 3:7. (JPS).

May the שָׁלוֹם - Shalom = Peace of צְבָאוֹת- יְהוָה= the LORD of hosts, be with you, and please always uphold our blessed שַׁבָּת - Shabbat, as well as the מוֹעֲדִים - Mo’a’dim - Feasts, and continue saying your daily תְּפִלָּה - Tefeelah’s - Prayers and regular בְּרָכָה - Be’ra’chah’s - blessings before food and drinks, etc!
