Remember the following two
truth’s from our beloved Scriptures!
“Ye
shall NOT ADD TO THE WORD which I command you, NEITHER SHALL YE DIMINISH FROM IT, that ye may keep the commandments of יְהוָה
אֱלֹהֵיכֶם - the LORD your Eloleichem, which I command you”. Davarim -
Deuteronomy 4:2.
Remember we are Never Alone!
Davarim -
Deuteronomy Chapter 31, verse 6.
JPS-1917 version of the Torah.
“Be strong and of good courage, fear not, nor be affrighted at them; for יְהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ - the LORD thy Eloheycha (God), He it is that doth go with thee; He will not fail thee, nor forsake thee’”.

Why not leave it in אֱלֹהִים - Elohim’s hands!.
With Rabbi, Dr. Reuven Ben Avraham-Goossens, PhD.
I am well aware that things can go wrong and other difficulties arise. But who is able to best fix it?
As much as you want to fix it, control it, or
even fight for it, sometimes the wisest and the hardest thing you can do is
simply let it go ... and leave it in אֱלֹהִים יְהוָה - the LORD Elohim’s hands!
The truth is that not
every battle is yours to fight, and not every burden is yours to carry.
The truth is not
every outcome is yours to decide!
Surrender does not mean you are giving up. It means believing that אֱלֹהִים - Elohim’s ways is the higher, thus His timing is always better than ours. His loving hands are far stronger than ours!
What does our Tanakh have to say about it?
Introduction:
Below, are four verses from the Tanakh that directly echo’s my above message about surrendering, and trusting אֱלֹהִים - Elohim’s timing, and leaving battles and burdens in יְהוָה - the LORD’s hands. The four verses shown below will each have a short application that ties it to the text shown above.

Verses that encourage surrender and trust:
1. “Be still
and trust אֱלֹהִים
- Elohim’s sovereignty”
Psalm 46:10: “Be still, and know that I am God.”
This verse calls us to stop striving and to recognize אֱלֹהִים - Elohim’s rule over every situation; it matches the line above, about the wisdom and difficulty of letting go and leaving things in אֱלֹהִים יְהוָה - hands!
2. “אֱלֹהִים
- Elohim’s ways and timing are higher”.
Isaiah 55:8-9: “For my
thoughts are not your thoughts … as the heavens are higher than the earth, so
are my ways higher than your ways”.
You can use this when you need to remember that His timing and His wisdom surpass ours, exactly as I wrote.
3. “Trust rather than control”.
Proverbs 3:5-6: “Trust
in יְהוָה
- the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding… and he
will make your paths straight”.
This encourages surrendering control and trusting God to direct outcomes you cannot decide for yourself.
Verses about rest and peace when we surrender
4. “Commit your way to יְהוָה - the LORD”.
Psalm 37:5: “Commit
your way to יְהוָה
- the LORD; trust in him, and he will act”.
A short, powerful reminder to entrust outcomes to אֱלֹהִים and step back from trying to force ant results yourself.
5. An application tip:
When you feel the urge to ‘fix’, ‘control’, or ‘fight’, just stop and pray one of the verses above aloud, then consciously hand the whole situation to אֱלֹהִים and just name it, then release it, and trust His timing and strength!
