Remember the following truth from our beloved Torah!
“Ye shall NOT ADD TO THE
WORD which I command you, NEITHER SHALL YE DIMINISH FROM IT, that ye may
keep the commandments of יְהוָה
אֱלֹהֵיכֶם - the LORD your Eloleichem,
which I command you”. Davarim -
Deuteronomy 4:2.
However, sadly both the later priests as well as our rabbis of long ago and of today have, and are shamefully disobeying this command of אֱלֹהִים יְהוָה - the LORD Elohim, בָּרוּךְ שֵׁם קָדוֹשׁוֹ - ‘Baruch Shem Kadosho’ – ‘Blessed be His Holy Name!’

Introduction:
Isaiah Chapter 61 serves as a pinnacle of prophetic hope,
focusing on the restoration of Zion. While earlier chapters of Isaiah
often dwell on judgment, this chapter shifts entirely toward comfort,
vindication, and the rebuilding of what was lost. It describes a total
reversal of fortune shifting from mourning to joy and from captivity to freedom
blessed be אֱלֹהִים - Elohim (God).

Let us read this wonderful chapter
of Yeshayahu - Isaiah Chapter 61: (JPS-1917 version of the Tanakh).
1. The spirit of אֱלֹהִים יְהוָה - the LORD Elohim is upon me; because יְהוָה - the LORD hath anointed me to bring good tidings unto the humble; He hath sent me to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the eyes to them that are bound;
2. To proclaim the year of יְהוָה - the LORD’s good pleasure, and the day of vengeance of our אֱלֹהִים; to comfort all that mourn;
3. To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them a garland for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the mantle of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called terebinths of righteousness, the planting of יְהוָה - the LORD, wherein He might glory.
4. And they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall renew the waste cities, the desolations of many generations.
5. And strangers shall stand and feed your flocks, and aliens shall be your plowmen and your vinedressers.
6. But ye shall be named the priests of יְהוָה - the LORD, men shall call you the ministers of our אֱלֹהִים; ye shall eat the wealth of the nations, and in their splendour shall ye revel.
7. For your shame which was double, and for that they rejoiced: 'Confusion is their portion'; therefore in their land they shall possess double, everlasting joy shall be unto them.
8. For I יְהוָה - the LORD love justice, I hate robbery with iniquity; and I will give them their recompense in truth, and I will make an everlasting covenant with them.
9. And their seed shall be known among the nations, and their offspring among the peoples; all that see them shall acknowledge them, that they are the seed which יְהוָה - the LORD hath blessed.
10. I will greatly rejoice in יְהוָה - the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my אֱלֹהִים; for He hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, He hath covered me with the robe of victory, as a bridegroom putteth on a priestly diadem, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.
11. For as the earth bringeth forth her growth, and as the garden causeth the things that are sown in it to spring forth; so אֱלֹהִים יְהוָה - the LORD Elohim will cause victory and glory to spring forth before all the nations.

This time let me provide you with an overview of Isaiah Chapter 61:1-11.
Isaiah Chapter 61 outlines a message of liberation and restoration. It begins with the speaker’s divine calling to bring good news, liberty to captives, and comfort to those who mourn. This includes proclaiming a “year of good pleasure” and a “day of vengeance”, leading to the replacement of mourning with joy and honour. The prophecy speaks of the physical rebuilding of the ancient ruins of the land and suggests a future where other nations will assist, while Israel takes on a priestly role and benefits from the wealth of nations. The chapter promises a double portion of blessing after past shame, rooted in אֱלֹהִים - Elohim’s love for justice and His promise of an everlasting covenant. This restoration will be so evident that other nations will recognize Israel as blessed by אֱלֹהִים. The speaker expresses personal joy in אֱלֹהִים, likening the salvation received to festive garments. The chapter concludes with the assurance that אֱלֹהִים will inevitably cause righteousness and praise to flourish before all nations, much like the earth yields growth.

My Closing Message:
Isaiah 61 emphasizes אֱלֹהִים - Elohim’s goal of replacing
suffering with beauty and purpose. The chapter highlights the transition
from sorrow to joy and the promise of a Covenant-keeping אֱלֹהִים who will bring forth righteousness
for all the world to see.
