Remember the following truth from our beloved Torah!

Ye shall NOT ADD TO THE WORD which I command youNEITHER SHALL YE DIMINISH FROM IT, that ye may keep the commandments of יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם - the LORD your Eloleichem, which I command you”. Davarim - Deuteronomy 4:2. (JPS-1917).

 “Hebrew Wisdom”

With Rabbi, Dr. Reuven Ben Avraham-Goossens, PhD.

Introduction:

The original script for us the Israelites was an Hebrew language that utilized a script known as ‘Paleo-Hebrew’ later it became known as the ‘Sinai inscriptions’ dated from 1842 BCE.

This script was used in the earliest stages. However, it is important to distinguish between the language (the spoken words and grammar) and the script (the alphabet and the visual symbols). Having gone through a number of changes over time, eventually the Hebrew fonts we know today came about in 458 BCE. Later the Masoretic text in Hebrew than now had vowels came about in 600 CE. Thus Hebrew is indeed an ancient language.

Hebrew is the oldest language which is still spoken to this very day, it carries not just ‘sound’ and ‘syntax’, but ‘spirit’ and ‘story’. It is rooted in thousands of years of Hebraic tradition; Hebrew quotes are often concise and most profound, layered with ‘cultural’, ‘religious’, and ‘emotional depth’. These timeless sayings are drawn from ‘sacred texts’ and ‘proverbs’, etc.

Whether you seek ‘strength’, ‘hope’, ‘wisdom’, or simply a ‘deeper understanding’ of ‘the human journey’, Hebrew quotes and their translations invite you to ‘pause’, ‘reflect’, and ‘connect’ with ‘ancient truths’, which are still relevant today!

The Power of Hebrew Wisdom in Modern Times:

Hebrew is not just a language, it is a ‘tapestry of memory’, ‘spirituality’, and ‘vision’. From its Torah/Tanakh origins, Hebrew sayings offer clarity in ‘confusion’, ‘resilience in hardship’, and ‘gratitude in simplicity’. They are not just words, they’re meditations.

The richness of these quotes lies in their ability to communicate vast truths in just a few words. For instance, a three-word Hebrew phrase may echo centuries of theological debate or familial love. You do not need to be fluent in Hebrew to feel the pulse of its heart.

Hebrew is often called “La’shon ha’Kodesh” (the holy tongue). Every letter has ‘spiritual significance’; every word, ‘layered meanings’. Many Hebrew quotes derive from our beloved sacred texts, such as those in our Torah/Tanakh which are imbued with such depth.

Take the Hebrew word “Shalom”, for example. While commonly translated as “peace”, it also implies ‘wholeness’, ‘harmony’, and ‘completion’. Understanding Hebrew quotes means stepping into a tradition where language is a bridge between the finite and the infinite!

For those who wish to learn Hebrew, there are excellent programs available to learn Hebrew, just look for it online! However, for us Hebrews, it comes with our long heritage and beloved faith!

This site was originally created, for those who desired to return to our blessed and wonderful faith. Thus be wise and work on your faith and pray at least two or three times a day (if possible) and always seek our beloved אֱלֹהִים - Elohim’s guidance, for His love is always with us, especially when we seek Him, blessed be He! However this site has become very much a teaching site with hundreds of studies!

Remember what אֱלֹהִים - Elohim, blessed be He, said the following via several of our prophets...

Return unto Me, and I will return unto you, saith צְבָאוֹת- יְהוָה- the LORD of hosts”. Mal’a’chi - Malachi 3:7. (JPS).
