Remember the following truth from our beloved Torah!

Ye shall NOT ADD TO THE WORD which I command you, NEITHER SHALL YE DIMINISH FROM IT, that ye may keep the commandments of יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם - the LORD your Eloleichem, which I command you”. Davarim - Deuteronomy 4:2. (JPS-1917).

 “Exodus Chapter 9:16-35

Part Two..

With Rabbi, Dr. Reuven Ben Avraham-Goossens, PhD.

Introduction:

The seventh plague marks a significant escalation in אֱלֹהִים - Elohim’s (God’s) judgment against Egypt. Unlike the previous signs, this is the first plague accompanied by an explicit theological explanation for why Pharaoh was spared from immediate destruction. It also introduces a unique element of mercy: a way for individual Egyptians to escape the coming disaster by heeding אֱלֹהִים - Elohim’s warning.

22. And יְהוָה - the LORD said unto Moses: ‘Stretch forth thy hand toward heaven, that there may be hail in all the land of Egypt, upon man, and upon beast, and upon every herb of the field, throughout the land of Egypt’.

My Closing Message:

The central theme of this passage is the sovereignty and mercy of אֱלֹהִים - Elohim. It illustrates that אֱלֹהִים - Elohim is not just the אֱלֹהִים - Elohim of the Hebrews, but יְהוָה - the LORD of the entire earth. This account serves as a warning against “convenience-based repentance” confessing sin only to escape consequences while the heart remains unchanged. Ultimately, it encourages the believer that אֱלֹהִים - Elohim’s purposes will be accomplished, and His Name will be known, regardless of the level of opposition.
